Item - Shelley Harmony Drip Ware jar Size – height 16cm base width 9cm rim width 9.5cm Comment – excellent condition Background - Harmony Ware was originally designed by Eric Slater. The bright colours were said to complement every home interior colour scheme. The banded ware as deliberately made to imitate hand-thrown ribbing although these pieces were actually made in moulds. In fact, you could choose to have ribbed or flat-sided wares. In respect of the Harmony drip ware Eric Slater chanced upon the idea by accident when he had mixed too much turpentine with the glaze, when he tried to paint bands on a vase the paint ran down the sides. Eric liked the effect and decided to experiment and eventually in 1932 created a whole range of Harmony drip ware products. Stock Ref – LK061 | ||
