About Us
Tonsley Antiques started trading in 2005 and has been based in Old York Road, Wandsworth over that period. Conceived by Reg Coles at the beginning and joined by Les Knight over recent years. Our enthusiasm and love for the pieces has seen the business thrive.
Les has now decided to open a second, larger shop at 340 next to our original premises at 338. Reg the founder partner who now works at Tonsley Antiques is our silver and maps specialist and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in these specific areas. Reg is very keen to express a fond appreciation and love of objects of the past, the history and fascination that they can bring to modern life. Reg is often seen engaging visitors to the shop and demonstrating how wonderful and beautifully made antique items were.
Les has brought his experience in art and paintings to the business in recent times and now believes that we have one of the best stocked art galleries in South West London. We sell a range of antiquarian prints and period paintings. Les is very keen on contemporary work too and believes in quality and affordability. We strive to cater for most pockets.
We usually sell works by known artists. Current stock includes works by Damien Hirst, Roger Hilton, Carel Weight, Elizabeth Blackadder, Mary Fedden, Landseer, Dame Laura Knight and many others. Both Les and Reg have a keen interest in Georgian furniture and stock a good range of period pieces.
